FIRE & SMOKE RATED CURTAINS WITH EGRESS MODEL D200E
Fire and Smoke Rated Curtains
System Description: The McKeon FireFighter D200E is a fire and smoke rated curtain with one or multiple integral egress doors. The FireFighter D200E is a first in the industry, opening protective made of a flexible fire-rated fabric that has been tested, approved and listed to UL 10B & UL 10C at 20 minutes, UL 10D at 3 hours and UL 1784 as a Smoke & Draft rated assembly. Available up to 60 feet in width and 24 feet in height and can incorporate up to 8 egress doors, The FireFighter D200E incorporates a new concept in egress doors, the soft-surface egress door can be pushed open with less than 30 pounds of force applied to the interior surface, once opened a building occupant can easily pass through for egress. This swinging technology also allows the soft-surface egress door to automatically return to its fully closed fire and life safety position.
System Advantages:
The assembly is concealed in a compact overhead housing and is virtually invisible when in the retracted position. Operated by a remotely located control unit and fully synchronized with the building fire and life safety system, the FireFighter D200E truly is the “First Responder.” FireFighter uses the same self-closing Auto-Set® features as other McKeon fire door and fire shutter systems. Upon activation the assembly gravity closes into place and is automatically reset after clearing of the fire alarm or smoke detection system.
Applications: FireFighter D200E can be manufactured as a single fire and smoke rated assembly that incorporates one or multiple egress doors. The D200E when deployed is fixed in vertical high pressure side guides that are easily hidden by side mounting. This technology guarantees no blowout or movement problems that are a potential challenge with combustion during a fire. Because FireFighter D200E will not blowout from vertical shaft air pressures that are common in multistory buildings, these assemblies are easily tested under normal building conditions.
